In 2005 we added a cold store with room, that nowadays has 15.000 m3 of storage space and capacity for over 5.000 pallets.
Using this as our sole raw material, together with our meticulous way of working, gives our lard specific, reliable qualities in terms of flavour, aroma and consistency, ensuring unique results in the end product.
These features mean that our lard is much appreciated on a market as competitive and constantly changing as today's.
Our product is used primarily by the baking and cake making industries to make both craft and industrial products.
We offer different presentactions of our products:
Rendering our pork fat gives us a range of products which we supply to our customers: pork lard, crackling and liquid fat.
Pork lard is made by carefully cooling and centrifuging the liquid fat. We supply it in wrapped blocks in 9 or 13 kg boxes or else in 250 g or 450g tubs. We also produce this lard with sugar, for customers working with sweeter products.
Crackling is the solid part left after cooking and once centrifuged, it can be supplied whole or chopped into different sizes, to eat as it is or to use in cakes and pastries such as the Catalan cakes known as coques de llardons (sweet of crackling).
The liquid fat is the part stored in tanks after rendering the raw material, to be supplied in this format.
The Masoliver cold store was set up to provide a cold or frozen storage service for pallets of meat-based products for food companies that need to outsource this function.
Our premises currently have over 2.500 m2 of floor space, with 15.000 m3 of cold and frozen storage at constantly controlled temperature, with space for over 5.000 pallets.
Lard is produced in an artisan way, taking care over the product during cooking, rendering and throughout the process, because this is what the product itself requires.
Nevertheless, our factory has evolved so that part of the process, such as packaging, is fully automated, so guaranteeing the best possible hygiene conditions.
This bearing in mind that two of the most important premises in the food industry are food safety and guaranteed quality.
We have a constantly updated quality system, and our staff are trained in Food Safety and food handling. Thus, throughout the production process we use a strict quality control system, applying a Standard Hygiene Management Plan (SHMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) so that we can guarantee the safety and quality of our products.
We have approval for export to different countries and are in a position to implement and process the quality certifications required at any given time.
